CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas softball team returns to the friendly confines of Farris Field on Saturday for the first of three games against Nicholls. The Bears look to bounce back after two midweek losses. UCA enters the weekend with a 22-12 overall record and a 10-2 record in the Southland, while Nicholls enters with an 8-17 overall record with a conference mark of 1-11.
 
Central Arkansas is currently ranked No. 2 in the SLC. Jenna Wildeman leads UCA with a .426 batting average, 31 runs scored, and 32 stolen bases. Mary Kate Brown is second on the team with a .404 average, 22 runs scored, leads the squad with nine doubles, and tied for the team lead in triples with two. Cylla Hill paces the Bears with seven home runs and is tied for a team-high 25 RBIs. Kaylyn Shepherd is tied at the top with 25 RBIs.
 
Kayla Beaver leads the Bears pitching staff with an 11-5 record in the circle with an ERA of 1.25. She has a team-high 89.1 innings pitched and is second on the team with 70 strikeouts. Jordan Johnson has a 7-4 record and an ERA of 2.16. She leads the team with 75 strikeouts in 77.2 innings in the circle.
 
The Colonels hold a 24-15 series lead over the Bears. The series is tied 12-12 in games played in Conway. UCA won the last meeting on March 10, 2019, 2-0, at Farris Field.
 
Nicholls is No. 11 in the Southland and led by Kennedy Hebert with a .370 batting average, 16 RBIs, seven doubles, and six stolen bases. Ashlyn Reavis is second on the team with a .366 average and has a team-high 17 runs scored. In the circle, Emily Danehower has a 3.50 ERA and a 3-4 record. She has a team-high 42 innings pitched. Taryn Westbrook leads the staff with 29 strikeouts.
