CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas beach volleyball team travels to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU on Friday. The Beach Bears will face No. 4 LSU, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Spring Hill, ULM, and New Orleans.
 
Coming into the weekend, Aly Brinkley and Colene Hamilton are ranked as the No. 20 pair in the NCAA at the No. 1 position according to the CBVB. At the No. 2 pair, Evelyn Griffith and Faith Hasness are ranked No. 21 in the NCAA.
 
The Bears and Javelinas have met twice and UCA has won both of the meetings. Central Arkansas won the last meeting 4-1 on March 30, 2018. Roxanne Morris and Olivia Nicholson lead Texas A&M-Kingsville at the No. 1 position with an 8-8 record and the duo is ranked No. 34. The Javs enter the weekend with a 9-7 record.
 
UCA and LSU have met twice and LSU has won both matchups. LSU bested UCA 5-0 in the last match on April 8, 2018. The Tigers enter the weekend with a 17-5 record. Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth lead LSU as the No. 1 pair in the NCAA and have a perfect 22-0 record. The match against LSU will be available on Cox Sports Television.
 
Central Arkansas and Spring Hill have met only once and it was earlier this season. The Sandy Badgers defeated the Beach Bears 3-2. Spring Hill has a 10-6 record coming into the weekend. Kassandra Fairly and Payton Gidney have a 5-9 record as the No. 1 pair.
 
The Beach Bears are 6-2 against the Warhawks. The two have split the last two meetings and ULM won the last matchup 3-2 on March 13, in Monroe. The Warhawks enter the weekend with an 11-14 record. ULM is led by Julia Blazek and Audrey Brooks in the No. 1 position.
 
The Privateers hold a 3-1 series lead over the Beach Bears. UNO has won the last three contests, including a 4-1 win on April 18, 2019. New Orleans is 4-10 on the season. Veronica and Victoria Corcoran pace the Privateers at the No. 1 spot with an 8-6 record.
