CONWAY, Ark. – The Central Arkansas softball team will host Stephen F. Austin on Saturday and Sunday for the pivotal matchup between the Southland Conference's top-two teams. The Bears enter the weekend 26-15 overall and 14-4 in SLC play, while the Ladyjacks are 27-8 overall and 18-0 in the conference. UCA and SFA currently sit second and first, respectively.
The Bears are coming off of an extra-inning loss on the road at No. 6/8 Arkansas. UCA is led by
Jenna Wildeman with a .391 batting average, 39 stolen bases, and 32 runs scored.
Cylla Hill leads the squad with seven home runs and 30 RBIs.
Mary Kate Brown leads the team with 10 doubles and is second on the team with a batting average of .337.
Kaylyn Shepherd and
Kristen Whitehouse are tied for second with four home runs. Brown and Shepherd are tied for the team lead with two triples.

Kayla Beaver has an ERA of 1.47 in 109.1 innings, both of which lead the team. She has compiled a record of 13-6.
Jordan Johnson leads the staff with 103 strikeouts in 103.1 innings of work. She has a record of 9-6 with a 2.17 ERA.
This will be the 49th meeting between the two programs. The Bears hold a 22-16 series lead over SFA, including a 14-5 record in Conway. The Ladyjacks won the last meeting on March 1, 2020, in Conway 1-0.
SFA is led by Shaylon Govan with a .429 batting average, 42 RBIs, 31 runs scored, and 13 home runs. Gaby Garcia leads the team with 10 doubles and is second on the team with a .411 batting average and 36 RBIs. In the circle, Kassidy Wilbur leads the team with a 1.00 ERA in 160.2 innings of work. She has 205 strikeouts with a 23-3 record.
