ABILENE, Texas _ Behind a season-high 16 kills from junior
Madi Bowles, the University of Central Arkansas Sugar Bears made quick work of Abilene Christian on Saturday, winning in straight sets at the Teague Events Center.
UCA won 25-20, 25-19 and 25-18 to improve to 8-7 overall and 6-4 in Southland Conference play.
The Sugar Bears hit .262 for the match while holding the Wildcats to just .103. Bowles led the way by hitting .424 with 16 kills and just two errors. Junior
Lexi Miller added 12 kills and sophomore
Alexis Stumbough had nine.

Bailey Waddington had a match-high 24 assists while Stumbough had 17 digs and senior
Emily Doss added 14.
ACU (7-5, 6-4) had no players with double-figure kills, with Katelyn Mueller and Braden Bossier leading the way with 8 apiece. Madison Rohre had 20 assists for the Wildcats.
The Sugar Bears return home for their final two regular-season matches, on Thursday against Nicholls and on Saturday against Southeastern Louisiana, before the SLC Tournament begins March 31 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Â
