CONWAY, Ark. _ Coming off their most complete and biggest victory of the season, the University of Central Arkansas Bears had little time to enjoy their Saturday upset of Abilene Christian.

The Bears knocked off the Southland Conference's top team 84-82 on Saturday night at the Farris Center, handing the Wildcats just their second league loss in 13 games. The win also broke a 10-game losing streak for the Bears, who dominated the second half against ACU, shooting 63.3 percent and outscoring the Wildcats 48-33 in the second half to secure the win.

But less than 48 hours later, the Bears return to the court to face another SLC contender, the SLC preseason favorite Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. UCA hosts SFA at 3 p.m. Monday at the Farris Center in a makeup of a game that was postponed by last week's winter weather. Ironically, the Lumberjacks are coming off an upset loss of their own, losing 88-83 to Lamar on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks cruised past the Bears 95-69 in the initial meeting of the season on Jan. 13 at Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, Texas. For perspective, the Bears lost their first matchup with ACU by 35 points back in January as well.

In the first meeting with SFA, senior guard Rylan Bergersen had 19 points for the Bears, who were playing just their second game after the loss of senior point guard DeAndre Jones to a season-ending knee injury. By contrast, SFA had five players in double figures, including three off the bench. Cameron Johnson led the way with 21 points, while Gavin Kensmil had 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lumberjacks shot 54.8 percent from the field and held UCA to just 45.1 percent. SFA outscored UCA 52-38 in the second half to put the game away.

The Bears are still fighting to reach next week's SLC postseason tournament at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. UCA is currently 3-10 in league play with three games remaining, two at home (Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday) and the season finale on the road at Northwestern State on Saturday.

Monday's game will be a doubleheader with the UCA-McNeese women's game, which tips off at 5:30 p.m.
