HOLLISTER, Mo. – The Central Arkansas women's golf team put together a great first day at the Ozark National Invitational, hosted by Missouri State. After 18 holes of golf Monday morning, the Bears sit in third place in a field of 15, playing a 2-over 290 as a team.
Individually, two golfers sit in the top-10 after one round.
Elin Kumlin sits at a 2-under 70 to place third after the first round. Likewise, Pim Thitisup turned in an even round to hold down a tie for sixth place, while
Camila Moreno sits just outside the top-10 with a 1-over 73 round to place 16th.
Further on down the standings,
Tania Nunez and
Karley Whittington tied for 29th with a 3-over 75.
The field will start back up at 9 a.m. on Tuesday with another shotgun start to the day, playing a second day of 18 holes. The tournament will head into Wednesday, where the teams will play a third round of golf to decide final standings.
