Blaine Calhoon led the Central Arkansas men's golf team on the second day of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate on Monday, at the Squire Creek Country Club. He posted a 74 (+2). The Bears are in 11th with a team score of 604 (+37).
Calhoon climbed five spots into a tie for 47th with a two-round score of 151 (+7). His round of 74 (+2) led the Bears and tied for the lowest round of the season. He recorded four birdies on the day, two on the front 9 and two on the back 9.
Nate Jolly,
Josh Turnock, and
Palmer McSpadden are all tied for 50th with a two-day total of 152 (+8).
Jolly moved up two spots on the leaderboard. He posted a score of 75 (+3) for the second round with two birdies.
Turnock also moved up two spots in the standings. He tallied a birdie on the front 9 and back 9. He finished with a round of 75 (+3).
McSpadden finished the day with a 78 (+6). For the second-straight day he birdied the Par-5 9th.
Miles Smith jumped six spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 57th with a two-day mark of 153 (+9). He birdied the Par-5 11th for the second-straight round and finished the day with a 75 (+3).
Davis Irving closed out the day with a 78 (+6) with three birdies. He is tied for 65th with a two-round tally of 155 (+11).
The Squire Creek Country Club is a 7,105-yard, par 72. The final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate starts Tuesday at 8 a.m.
