Tournament Central
CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas plays at Farris Field for the first time this season as it hosts the 2020 Michelle Short Memorial Collegiate Classic Friday-Sunday. The Bears (7-4) welcome Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-9), Jackson State (4-5), Morehead State (2-2), and Southern Mississippi (4-3) to Conway.

For the second week in a row, UCA had a pitcher named Southland Pitcher of the Week. This week
Jordan Johnson earned that honor for the previous week's effort of 11.1 innings pitched, four strikeouts, and a 2-0 record.

UCA opens the tournament with a matchup against a familiar foe in Jackson State on Friday, at 4:15 p.m. The Bears and the Lady Tigers have played each other six times in the last five years, with UCA winning all six matchups. Central Arkansas defeated Jackson State, 8-0, earlier this season. Central Arkansas closes Friday's action with a game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:30 p.m. Since 2014, the Bears and Lady Lions have played 13 times and UCA has won all of those matchups.

Central Arkansas is off on Saturday, but there will be four games played at Farris Field.

On Sunday, the Bears play Morehead State at 11:15 a.m. This will be the first time the Bears and Eagles have played each other. UCA closes the classic with a game against Southern Miss at 1:30 p.m. The Golden Eagles lead the overall series, 4-3. UCA won the last meeting in 2016, 9-0. The Golden Eagles are led by Conference-USA Preseason All-Conference players Lacey Sumerlin and Destini Brown.
