STARKVILLE, Miss. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears should know what to expect when they take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Wednesday night at Humphrey Coliseum.

It will be UCA's third consecutive game against an Southeastern Conference opponent, in a span of five days. The Bears will meet the Bulldogs at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network on the heels of games at Arkansas and Ole Miss. UCA dropped those games but were competitive in both.

UCA is 0-5 against a schedule that has included the two teams mentioned along with Memphis, Saint Louis and Little Rock. The Bears will finally play at home at the Farris Center at 2 p.m. Saturday against Champion Christian College. But before that home date, the Bears get one more SEC West foe on the road. 

The Bulldogs, under the direction of Coach Ben Howland, are 3-3 overall but 3-0 at home, with victories over North Texas, Jackson State and Texas State. Their losses were to Clemson, Liberty and Dayton, all on neutral courts.

MSU is led by 6-foot-6 junior guard D.J. Stewart Jr., who is averaging 19.0 points per game. Stewart is a four-star recruit out of Grace, Miss. and was the No. 2 high school prospect in Mississippi in 2018. Stewart scored a career-high 32 points in MSU's 85-82 overtime loss to Dayton last Saturday. 

MSU's 6-10 forward Tolu Smith pulls down 8.2 rebounds a game while sophomore guard Iverson Molinar averages 4.3 assists.Junior 6-11 forward Abdul Ado has been one of the top shot blockers in the SEC for three years and hads191 for his career.

The Bulldogs, who have put together three consecutive 20-win seasons, had two players taken in the 2020 NBA Draft in Reggie Perry and Robert Woodard II.

The game will be the third straight UCA game carried on one of the SEC Networks. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at The Hump.
