BEARS FALL TO COWGIRLS IN STILLWATER

STILLWATER, OKLA. – It was tough outing for Central Arkansas women's soccer team as giving up an early goal led to the inability of recovery as the Bears eventually fell to Oklahoma State 5-0 in Stillwater. Oklahoma state (3-0-1) is undefeated on the season and has scored at least three goals in every one of their matches.

Despite not finding the back of the net tonight, Central Arkansas (0-4) showed signs of attacking promise, creating a few scoring chances. The Bears finished the night with seven total shots, including four on target.

First Half

  • Oklahoma State took an early 1-0 advantage in the second minute of the match on a strike from Jaci Jones.
  • Jones would get her second goal of the night in the 18th minute after converting from inside the six yard box, doubling the Cowgirls' advantage.
  • UCA's Kirsten Rumbold provided the first threat for the Bears in the 34th minute, where she saw her strike fly just wide.
  • UCA would continue to apply pressure as senior striker Lauren Hargus forced a save out of the OSU keeper in the 40th minute.
  • OSU would make it three goals right on the stroke of halftime as Charme Morgan found the back of the net for the cowgirls in the 43rd minute. It would be the last scoring opportunity for either team in the first half.

Second Half

  • Oklahoma State would make it four in the 48th minute after a 28 yard rocket from Camy Huddleston flew into the roof of the net, leaving UCA keeper Clara Bornet with no chance.
  • Charme Morgan would grab her second goal of the night in the 56th minute, increasing OSU's lead to five goals.
  • UCA's Savannah Tidd tested the OSU keeper in the 74th minute, forcing another save on a well-hit strike.
  • Hadley Dickinson would have arguably the best chance of the night for the Bears as she saw her 90th minute strike rattle the crossbar.

Coach Bishop Quotes

"We are making strides, and I believe getting better each match. We are all a bit frustrated right now with the results, but I know this group will keep working. It was a great experience for our team tonight to play in one of the best college soccer facilities in the country and I know matches like this will prepare us for conference play."
