LAKE CHARLES, La. – It was a tightly contested, scoreless ballgame between the University of Central Arkansas and McNeese before a 10-run fourth inning by the Cowgirls propelled the home team to a 10-0 victory Saturday morning at Joe Miller Field.
UCA (21-23, 7-11 SLC) struggled to piece together hits against McNeese starter Caroline Settle. Central Arkansas also committed four errors defensively that contributed heavily to the defeat.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Rio Sanchez (8-8) was saddled with the loss having allowed six earned runs over 3.1 innings.
- Kayla Crutchmer, Erin Blackburn and Morgan Felts all had identical 1-2 stat lines, each picking up a single in the contest.
- Oakley Sisemore was the only other baserunner for the Bears, reaching on a walk in the top of the fifth inning.
- Jordan Johnson and Ellie Reaves both saw time in the circle in relief of Sanchez. The duo combined for the final 0.2 innings allowing four hits and walking one.
