CONWAY – Coming into the midweek contest, the University of Central Arkansas knew they were up against one of the nation's best offensive lineups in Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls bats did not disappoint as UCA dropped a 16-1 decision to OSU Thursday night at Farris Field.
UCA (12-13, 1-2 SLC) held steady in the contest before a ration of Bear miscues and extra-base hits from the visitors provided the separation the Big 12-foe needed to seize momentum. The Cowgirls outhit the home squad 20-2 en route to its 19th victory of the season.
NOTABLES
- Kayla Crutchmer continues to be one of the NCAA's top threats on the basepaths. The junior from Tulsa, Okla. picked up two more steals and was the lone run scored on the game for UCA.
- Libby Morris picked up her team-leading 27th RBI in the contest, driving Crutchmer home from third on a groundout in the first inning.
- Sophomore Rio Sanchez (4-4) got the start in the circle having shut down Nicholls in her last appearance. The Erie, Colo. native was saddled with the loss.
- Kaylyn Shepherd singled up the middle in the fifth inning to extend her on-base streak to 25 games.
