ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH JOHN NEWBERRY ON THE TRIP
"We are excited about the opportunity to play Houston Baptist and Sam Houston again. Our team is completely different now than when we played both teams opening up our conference season. Both of our opponents are seated right above us in the conference standings. We are expecting both of these games to be very competitive and an all-out fight to the end.
We have been working hard to tweak a few areas that we have leaked some points in. We have reduced some errors. In order for us to win against both solid teams, our passing and hitting efficiency will need to be the best it has been this whole season.
We are also very excited about the opportunity to play in front of a lot of family. Half of our team is from the Houston area. UCA has always had a strong fan base when it comes to playing teams in the Houston area."
