BEARS FALL TO LANCERS IN OT

RIVERSIDE, Calif. _ The University of Central Arkansas Bears got 28 points from Eddy Kayouloud but fell 104-98 in overtime to the California Baptist Lancers in the 2K Empire Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Bears (1-5) rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit by outscoring CBU 49-39 in the second half to force overtime. But the Lancers jumped out quickly in the extra period and outscored the Bears 16-10 in overtime to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Kayouloud, a sophomore from Paris, France, scored a season-high 28 points, hitting 9 of 16 from the field and 10 of 13 at the free-throw line. He added 8 rebounds and four assists in a team-high 40 minutes of action. Junior transfer guard Rylan Bergersen scored a career-high 20 points and went 8 of 9 at the foul line as UCA went 25 of 34 (76 percent).

The Bears trailed for most of the game but tied it at 56-56 on a three-pointer from junior center Hayden Koval at the 16-minute mark of the second half.
