THIBODEAUX, LA. –Central Arkansas women's soccer just picked up its fourth straight Southland Conference victory and did it in some style, defeating Nicholls State by an astounding score line of 6-0. The win gets the Bears one step closer to solidifying a Southland Conference tournament spot, with an opportunity to clench next weekend.
First Half
- The Bears got on the board less than four minutes into the match on an Abby Gibson goal into the bottom right corner. It was the freshman's first goal of her UCA career.
- Anika Sultan, who provided the assist on the first goal, nearly got on the board in the eighth minute on a strike down the middle, but was saved by the Nicholls keeper.
- Morgan Rollow would double the Bears' advantage in the 36th minute on a strike that found its way into the bottom right corner on the double assist from Haylee Hulse and Emma Hawkins.
Second Half
- The second half saw the Bears run riot beginning with goals from Hadley Dickinson in the 50th and 52nd minute to extend the lead to 4-0.
- Freshman Emma Hawkins would join the scoring party in the 57th minute on a strike that found its way into the bottom corner, extending the lead to 5-0.
- Lauren Hargus would cap off the scoring late in the second half, converting an 89th minute penalty kick to give the Bears the 6-0 win on the afternoon. Five of the six goal scored were assisted on.
