BEARS DROP SERIES FINALE AT SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA

Hammond, Louisiana  - The Central Arkansas Bears suffered their worst day at the plate in a month on Saturday, tallying just one hit in an 8-0, six-inning loss to Southeastern Louisiana.

In a rough day at the dish, Central Arkansas (24-21, 12-9 SLC) put just three runners on base, drawing from right fielder Morgan Felts and shortstop Kate Myers in the first and getting a single from first baseman Kaylyn Shepherd in the fourth.

Southeastern Louisiana (30-17, 14-7 SLC) broke the game open in the second inning, taking advantage of a Central Arkansas error to plate five unearned runs behind RBI from second baseman Alli Daigle, centerfielder Maddie Edmonston, and left fielder Kinsey Nichols. Edmonston and Nichols would each add an RBI in the fourth, before a sacrifice fly from third baseman Mahalia Gibson gave the Lady Lions the run-rule in the sixth.

Maddy Prough (2-2) took the loss for Central Arkansas after allowing five unearned runs on two hits and two walks in 1.2 innings, while Ellie Reaves allowed a pair of runs on six hits in 2.2 innings. Kailla Searcy threw the final 1.0 innings for the Bears, giving up a run on two hits.

Central Arkansas returns home for the final eight games of the regular season, beginning with a pair of non-conference matchups this week. The Bears will host Memphis at 5:00 PM on Tuesday before welcoming Lyon College for a 6:00 PM game on Wednesday.
