BEARS WRAP UP HOME STAND WITH PAIR OF MATCHES

Conway – After opening the 2016 season on the road at Mizzou last Friday, the Central Arkansas women's soccer team will close out a three match home stand with a pair of matches at the Bill Stephens Complex this weekend. The Bears will welcome Tulsa at 7:00 PM tonight, before facing off with in-state opponent Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Central Arkansas (1-1) looks to build upon the momentum gained in last Sunday's home opener, when the Bears took down Little Rock 1-0 in front of the second largest crowd in program history. Through two games, the Bears are led offensively by sophomore Camille Bassett and freshman Jordan Slim, who have each collected one goal on the season. Senior Chele Naudin, junior Alex Moore, and sophomore Kristen Ricks have each picked up an assist. Junior Anna Hughes and sophomore Lauren Mercuri have split time in goal for the Bears so far this season, with each seeing 90 minutes of action. Hughes has made four saves while allowing a single goal, while Mercuri has allowed a pair of goals, but made 11 saves. Both UCA keepers have a save percentage greater than .800.

Tulsa (0-1-1) opened the season with a pair of games against top-25 opponents last weekend, tying #25 Loyola-Marymount 1-1 in double overtime on Friday, before falling to #24 South Carolina 4-1 on Sunday. The Golden Hurricane attack is led by junior Tana Dake and freshman Reagan Whitlow, who have each netted one goal. Tulsa has also seen a platoon in goal so far this season, with juniors Rebecca Defer and Courtney McKeon each playing a full match between the posts. Defer made four saves against Loyola-Marymount, while McKeon picked up seven stops against South Carolina.

UAPB (0-1) has taken to the field just once so far this season, falling at Oral Roberts by a score of 3-0. The Lady Lions managed just three shots against the Golden Eagles, with senior Veronica Parker and freshman Kelsey Martin each putting one on frame. Senior Makayla Cowles made 11 saves for UAPB.
