KALAMAZOO, Mich. _ Western Michigan placed four players in double figures Saturday in downing the University of Central Arkansas Bears 80-63 in non-conference action at University Arena.
   The Broncos (2-4), who snapped a four-game losing streak, got 23 points from center Drake Lamont and 17 more from guard Thomas Wilder. Senior guard Derreck Brooks topped the Bears with 20 points and 10 rebounds, hitting 4 of 5 from three-point range and pulling down six offensive rebounds.
   The Bears (1-4) outrebounded WMU 44-43 but had 20 turnovers to just eight for the Broncos.
   The Bears, who trailed by as much as 19 points with 12:39 to play, cut the deficit to just 10 points with just more than six minutes to play but the Broncos outscored the Bears 12-5 over the next three minutes to put the game out of reach.
   Junior Mathieu Kamba added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the Bears, who shot just 37.1 percent form the field and 64.7 percent from the free-throw line. UCA's leading scorer Jordan Howard was held to a career-low five points on 2 of 13 shooting. He did extend his streak of consecutive three-pointers to 45 games.
   Senior guard Jeff Lowery added 12 points, 6 rebounds and a team-high 7 assists for the Bears, who host their first home game of the season on Tuesday night against Little Rock. Tipoff is approximately 7:30 following the Sugar Bears' game with Alcorn State at 5 p.m.Â
