BEARS FALL 3-1 TO NO. 19 COWBOYS

STILLWATER, Okla. _ The No. 19 Oklahoma State Cowboys used an 11-hit attack to down the University of Central Arkansas Bears 3-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Reynolds Stadium.

The Cowboys scored their first two runs on and error and a bases-loaded hit by pitch  in the fourth inning, and a safety squeeze bunt in the fifth inning. UCA got one run back in the sixth inning when junior Tyler Langley led off with a walk, went to second on junior Braxton Phillips' sacrifice bunt and scored on senior Nate Ferrell's single to right field.

OSU added the final run in the eighth on Gage Green's RBI single through the right side of the infield that brought home Ryan Sluder, who had doubled.

Ferrell finished with two of UCA's four hits. Freshman righthander Dillon Drabble (0-1) took the loss for the Bears in his first start, despite allowing just four hits and no earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Junior Bo Stitch held the Cowboys scoreless for three innings of relief as UCA used five pitchers.

Four OSU starters had two hits each as the Cowboys finished with 11. Starter Remey Reed got the win for OSU to improve to 2-0 on the year.

The Bears, who beat the Cowboys 11-3 in their last meeting in 2013, return to Southland Conference action on Friday at Houston Baptist. The first-place Bears and Huskies will play at 2 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
