CONWAY — A pair of late pinch-hit homers and a near-perfect pitching performance from
Kylee Studioso propelled Central Arkansas to an 8-0 six-inning victory over ULM Saturday at Farris Field.
Studioso (6-2) gave up just one hit and walked none while striking out 11 as she held the Warhawks (11-3) – who came in having averaged 7.5 hits and 7.4 runs per game – scoreless for the first time this season.
She got ample run support from a lineup that saw nine players record hits and 13 reach base, with nine hits and seven walks in all, including a trio of home runs from UCA hitters.

Both teams went scoreless in the 5th, and Studioso sat the Warhawks down in order in the top of the 6th, getting a pair of strikeouts and a flyout. In the bottom half, the Bears went up 6-0 when freshman
Brianna McArthur hit her first collegiate home run with a pinch-hit shot over the left field fence. After sophomore left fielder
Hannah Stirton coaxed a full-count walk and stole second, the Bears finished off the Warhawks with yet another pinch-hit homer, this time from sophomore
Tylor Dodson, who belted one out to right center to cement the victory.
The Bears play UAPB tonight following the ULM-UAPB game, and host Delaware at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
