CONWAY, Ark. _ The University of Central Arkansas women's soccer team lost for the first time this season on Friday, dropping a 3-1 decision to the University of Tulsa on a scorching afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
UCA (3-1-1) grabbed an early lead when senior Vanessa Randall scored on an assist from fellow senior Alex Wurst at the 22:12 mark of the first half. But Tulsa scored two goals within two minutes of each other to take a 2-1 lead at the half.
Tulsa's Rachel Thun then pushed the lead to 3-1 with her second consecutive goal at the 70:02 mark.
UCA freshman goalkeeper Anna Hughes recorded seven saves on the day. Tulsa improved to 5-0 on the season for the first time in school history.
The Bears will face the No. 20 Oklahoma Sooners at 1 p.m. Sunday in Norman, Okla.
