Itta Bena, Miss. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer team was back in action on Friday night, travelling to Itta Bena, Mississippi to take on the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State. The Bears were firing on all cylinders, scoring five goals in each half to pick up the 10-0 victory.
Freshman Alex Moore led the charge for the Bears (2-0-1) earning her first career hat trick and picking up a pair of goals. Shelby Wilson and Peyton Reisch each had a brace of goals, while Allie Coleman, Brooke Ballard, and Avery Taylor each scored once. Coleman and Ballard, along with MaKayla Wilson, also turned in an assist a piece.
Freshman Anna Hughes earned her second shutout of the season, making four saves while facing 12 shots. Carmilla Gomide made five saves while taking the loss for Mississippi Valley State (0-2-0).
The Bears will return to the field on Sunday afternoon, travelling to Jonesboro to take on in-state opponent Arkansas State. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
