Tulsa, Okla. – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team headed to Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday to take the field for the final time in the 2014 season, playing the second match of a home-and-home series against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles. After weather forced a change in venue and a delay, the squads finally managed to face off, with ORU picking up the 3-0 win.
Oral Roberts (7-7-2) got on the board first, as Isaac Fraley collected a rebound and pounded it home from 25 yards out to put the Golden Eagles up 1-0 in the 56
th minute.
ORU extended its lead in the 63
rd minute, when Perry Brooks worked his way through the Central Arkansas back line and slipped the ball past Central Arkansas keeper
Taran Meyer to push the lead to 2-0.
Johnny Chavez capped the scoring in the 71
st minute, collecting a ball played into the box from Alex White and finishing with his left foot from 10 yards out to push the advantage to 3-0.
Central Arkansas (3-13-1) took eight shots on the night and put two of them on goal.
Logan Miller was responsible for both shots on goal, while
Pepe San Roman and
Dylan Brog each took a pair of shots, and
Andre De Giorgi took one. Chavez had a pair of shots on goal for ORU, while Fraley, Brooks, Kaspars Kokis, and Edgardo Mira each had one.
Ben LaCourse earned the clean sheet for ORU, making two save, while Meyer took the loss for the Bears, making three save and allowing a trio of goals.
