BEARS FALL TO TWENTY-FIRST-RANKED MUSTANGS

Dallas, Texas – The Central Arkansas men's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday for a non-conference game against the number 21 team in the nation, the Southern Methodist University Mustangs. SMU proved to be too much for the Bears to handle, defeating Central Arkansas 7-0.

SMU (8-3-1) scored four goals in the first half before adding three more in the second. Will Smith led the Mustang attack, scoring a pair of goals on four shots, while John Lujano, Idrissa Camara, Mauro Cichero, Damian Rosales, and Andrew Morales each added a goal.

Pepe San Roman was the only Central Arkansas player to attempt a shot on the day, taking two.

Michael Nelson and Nick Ruiz combined to earn the shutout for SMU. Harrison Veith made three saves for Central Arkansas in the first half, while Taran Meyer made one save in the second half.
Central Arkansas returns to Missouri Valley Conference play on Saturday, traveling to Peoria, Illinois to battle Bradley. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
