The Central Arkansas women's soccer team faced off with UMKC as the second game of a double-header on Sunday afternoon. After two overtime periods, neither team was able to grab the victory, drawing 1-1.
Central Arkansas (2-2-1) grabbed a lead in the 70
th minute, when Brooke Ballard blasted a shot into the back of the UMKC (3-2-1) net for her second goal of the year and the 1-0 lead. The 'Roos took just ten seconds to respond, as Ellie Chadick collected a pass from Hannah Chadick and slammed it into the top corner of the net from 20 yards out to even the match at 1-1.
The first overtime period was quiet, but both teams had legitimate scoring chances in the second, though neither was able to find the game-winner.
Hayley Romero played the first half in net for the Bears, making one save. Kaitlyn Keith played the second half and both overtime periods, making three saves and allowing one goal.Nina Tzianos played the entire match in goal for the 'Roos, making four saves and allowing one goal.
The Bears travel to Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, to face off against Lipscomb. The match is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 pm.
