The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears hit the road on Thursday night, traveling to Hammond, Louisiana to face off against Southeastern Louisiana. The Sugar Bears picked up their fourth straight-set victory in a row, taking down the Lady Lions 3-0.
Central Arkansas (11-3, 3-0 SLC) hit .235 on the night, taking the first set 25-20, the second set 25-22, and the third set 25-10. Southeastern Louisiana (6-9, 0-3 SLC) hit just .056 in the match. Heather Schnars led the Central Arkansas offense, hitting .241 with 10 kills. Marissa Collins picked up a double-double in the match, dishing out 30 assists and digging 11 balls, while Shelbee Berringer had a match-high 15 digs. Parrie Hartley had a team-high 10 kills for the Lady Lions, while Mikayla Shippy had 23 assists and Megan McMillin had 14 digs.
Central Arkansas returns to action on Saturday afternoon. The Sugar Bears will head to New Orleans, Louisiana to play against new Southland Conference member New Orleans. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm.
