SUGAR BEARS TAKE DOWN INCARNATE WORD IN STRAIGHT SETS

Kyle Hartman had 10 kills in UCA's victory over Incarnate Word
Conway, Ark. –

The Central Arkansas volleyball team took to the court at the Prince Center for their third game in three days, facing off against the University of the Incarnate Word. The Sugar Bears hit .426 on the day, taking down the Cardinals 3-0.

Central Arkansas (10-3, 2-0 SLC) won the first set 25-12 before taking a hard-fought second set 25-23. The Sugar Bears won the third set 25-7 to pick up the victory. Fulani Petties led the Central Arkansas offense, picking up 10 kills, three assists, two blocks, and a dig. Kyle Hartman chipped in 10 kills, while Marissa Collins keyed the Sugar Bear offense with 37 assists. Shelbee Berringer tallied a match-high 21 kills. Shaina Garza led the way for the Cardinals (4-4, 0-2 SLC), collecting six kills. Taylor McClelland had 12 assists and Sarah Cardenas had 13 digs.

The Sugar Bears hit the road next weekend, traveling to Hammond, Louisiana on Thursday night to battle Southeastern Louisiana at 7:00 pm. They will then head to New Orleans, Louisiana to face off with the University of New Orleans at 2:00 pm.
