The Central Arkansas women's soccer team travelled to Nashville, Tennessee to face off against Lipscomb University on Friday night. Neither team was able to score the victory though, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Lipscomb (2-3-2) wasted little time in getting on the board, as Ellen Lundy chipped a shot over Central Arkansas keeper Kaitlyn Keith for the 1-0 lead in the fifth minute. Central Arkansas (2-2-2-) responded just 45 seconds later, as Allie Coleman fed Adriana Lucar in front of the Lipscomb net. Lucar put it away for her fourth goal this season, tying the game at 1-1. The Bears grabbed the lead in the 59
th minute, as Brooke Ballard fielded a rebound from Shelby Wilson, slotting it into the net for her third goal this season. Lipscomb found an equalizer in the 73
rd minute as Baylee Linnell broke the Bears' back line and beat the keeper to even the score at 2-2. Neither team was able to take the lead throughout regulation or either overtime period.
Ballard let the Central Arkansas offense, placing two of her three shots on goal, while Lucar placed both of her shots on frame. Linnell led Lipscomb, putting three of her seven shots on target.
Kaitlyn Keith played the entire match in goal for the Bears, making four saves and allowing two goals. Anna Buhigas made five saves and allowed two goals in net for Lipsomb.
The Bears return to action next Saturday, playing host to UL-Monroe at 7:00 pm.
