Lake Charles, La. – The Central Arkansas women's soccer traveled to Lake Charles, Louisiana to take place in their first ever Southland Conference Tournament match. The sixth-seeded Bears took an early lead on third-seeded Southeastern Louisiana, but the Lady Lions scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Bears 4-1.
Central Arkansas (9-10-2) took an early lead in the fourth minute, when Sarah Correll launched a corner kick into the box, where Kristin Pollard collected it and blasted it home to give the Bears a 1-0 lead. Southeastern Louisiana (14-3-3) found an equalizer just three minutes later, when Casey Peacock fed Kelsey Salcido, who headed it home to knot the score at 1-1. The Lady Lions took the lead in the 17
th minute when Kayla Vera worked her way through the Central Arkansas defense and slammed a shot home from five yards out to give Southeastern Louisiana the 2-1 lead. Southeastern Louisiana pushed the lead to 3-1 on a Marisa Rodrigues goal in the 74
th minute before Brianna Singh scored in the 83
rd minute to give the Lady Lions the 4-1 lead.
Central Arkansas got shots on goal from Pollard, Brooke Ballard, Adriana Lucar, and Cassie Lange. Salcido led Southeastern Louisiana with a pair of shots on goal, while Singh, Vera, and Rodrigues each added one. Kaitlyn Keith was in net for the Bears, making a save and allowing four goals. Hope Sabadash made three saves for the Lady Lions while allowing one goal.
