SUGAR BEARS DEFEAT LADYJACKS IN STRAIGHT SETS

The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears hit the court at noon on Saturday, playing host to Stephen F. Austin in a Southland Conference matchup. The Sugar Bears rolled in the match, taking down the Ladyjacks in straight-sets.

The Sugar Bears (14-3, 6-0 SLC) hit .449 for the match, hitting at least .371 in each set. They were led by Heather Schnars and Paige Gantar who each hit .714, tying for the eighth-highest single-game percentage in school history. Schnars filled the stat sheet, tallying 16 kills, seven digs, three blocks, and two aces. Gantar chipped in 10 kills and two blocks. Marissa Collins dished out 40 assists to lead the match, and Shelbee Berringer had 13 digs, helping the Sugar Bears hold the Ladyjacks (10-8, 2-3 SLC) to a hitting percentage of just .079. Offensively, SFA was led by Leslie Jackson's seven kills and Paige Holland's 16 assists, while OJ Olson led the Ladyjack defense with 10 digs.

Central Arkansas returns to action next Saturday, hosting Oral Roberts at the Prince Center. The match is scheduled to start at noon.
