WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO STEPHEN F. AUSTIN

Kate Koch scored her fourth goal of the season on Sunday
Conway, Ark. –

The Central Arkansas women's soccer team was in action at the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex on Sunday, welcoming the Southland Conference-leading Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks. Stephen F. Austin outshot the Bears 18-10 on their way to a 2-1 victory.

The Ladyjacks (14-3-1, 9-1-0 SLC) opened the scoring in the 11th minute, when Zuri Prince blasted a shot home from 18 yards out to give Stephen F. Austin a 1-0 lead. The Ladyjacks pushed their lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute, as Chelsea Raymond lofted a cross into the box that Megan Wasiak headed into the net for her fourth goal of the season. Central Arkansas (7-9-2, 4-6-0 SLC) cut the lead in half in the 57th minute, when Kate Koch collected a pass from Kristin Pollard and slammed it home for her fourth goal of the season to pull the Bears to within a goal. Central Arkansas was unable to find an equalizer despite getting off five shots in the remaining 33 minutes.

Koch and Pollard led the Central Arkansas offense with two shots on goal apiece, and Shelby Wilson was on target with one shot. Raymond led the Ladyjacks with four shots on goal, while Prince added two and SFA got shots on goal from four other players. Lyndsey Goff made eight saves and allowed two goals in net for the Bears. Morgan Glick and Lacey Lee split time in net for the Ladyjacks. Glick had an uneventful first half, while Lee made four saves and allowed a goal in the second half.

Central Arkansas wraps up regular season with a pair of games in Conway next weekend. The Bears will face off with Lamar on Friday night at 7:00 pm. Central Arkansas will celebrate Senior day next Sunday by welcoming McNeese State to the Stephens for a 1:00 pm match.
