SUGAR BEARS TAKE DOWN ORAL ROBERTS BEHIND HARTMAN’S CAREER DAY

The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears faced off with Oral Roberts on Saturday in a rematch of last season's Southland Conference Tournament Championship. The Sugar Bears came out on to in the match, taking down the Golden Eagles 3-1.

Central Arkansas (15-3, 7-0 SLC) was led offensively by senior Kyle Hartman, who hit .353 on her way to 16 kills, shattering her previous career high of nine. Scout Brooks added 12 kills and Heather Schnars added 11. Marissa Collins dished out a match-high 46 assists to go along with nine digs and two aces. Shelbee Berringer and Corri Hunt led the way defensively, digging up 21 and 13 balls, respectively. Sara Pope led the way offensively for the Golden Eagles (13-4, 5-2 SLC), tallying 12 kills. Laura Taylor dished out 34 assists. Kylie Johnson had 11 digs on the defensive side, and Bruna Silva and McKenna Qualls each added 10.

Sugar Bears will face off with McNeese State at 7:00 pm on Thursday night, before heading to Thibodaux to battle Nicholls State at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
