The Central Arkansas volleyball team won its 11
th three set match of the season Thursday night, defeating the Nicholls State Colonels by scores of 25-18, 28-26, 25-16 to move to 13-1 on the season and 2-1 in Southland Conference play.
The Sugar Bears hit .291 for the match, led by Alicia Dittrich, who hit .471 on her way to ten kills. Jessica Hays led Central Arkansas in kills, collecting 19 with a hitting percentage of .333 to go along with six digs and three service aces. Kyle Hartman chipped in with nine kills and two service aces. Marissa Collins helped key the offense with 48 assists, while Shelbee Berringer helped on defense with 19 digs.
Nicholls State (5-7, 2-1 SLC) hit only .103 for the match, with Jessica Addicks and Jasmine Harris being the only Colonels to hit over .200. Addicks led the Colonels with seven kills and Jennifer Brandt contributed four. Nancy Taylor and Marlee Bean tallied nine assists a piece and Jeanne Logarbo collected 15 digs.
The Sugar Bears return to action on Saturday at noon, hosting Southland foe Southeastern Louisiana. They then hit the road for road games against Northwestern State on Thursday night and Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon.
