The Central Arkansas volleyball program bounced back from Thursday night’s loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi by sweeping Sam Houston State on Saturday.
The Sugar Bears (12-1, 1-1 SLC) hit .311 for the match, led by Heather Schnars, who hit .476 on her way to 11 kills. Jessica Hays led the Sugar Bears in kills, tallying 19 to go along with seven digs and a service ace. Marissa Collins keyed the Central Arkansas attack, collecting 40 assists. Alicia Dittrich chipped in with eight kills and two blocks, and Taylor Hammonds contributed five kills. Sam Houston (5-8, 1-1 SLC) hit only .141 on the match, led by Deveney Wells-Gibson and Haley Neisler, who both hit .250. Wells-Gibson was the star for the Bearkats, tallying 11 kills, two service aces, seven digs, and two blocks. Neisler threw in five kills and two blocks.
The Sugar Bears return to action Thursday night, playing host to Nicholls State at the Prince Center. They then host Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday afternoon.
