The Central Arkansas volleyball team made short work of McNeese State on Saturday afternoon, sweeping the Cowgirls in straight sets.
The Sugar Bears (25-4, 13-3 SLC) were in top form during the match, collecting set victories of 25-17, 25-11, and 25-15. They hit an impressive .371 on the day. Scout Brooks led Central Arkansas with a hitting percentage of .467, and Jessica Hays (.444) and Jessica Nagy (.429) also hit over .400. Hays led the team with 13 kills and also turned in three digs, two aces, and a block. Brooks collected eight kills, and Nagy tallied seven kills, three aces, and two blocks. Marissa Collins collected 34 assists on the day, in addition to racking up 4 blocks and three aces.
The Cowgirls (7-23, 1-15 SLC) hit .123 for the match, with Rachel Cagnina and Megan Carlton being the only two McNeese State players to hit over .200 on double-digit attempts. Carlton had a team-high eight kills and Cagnina had four. Kelly Graham assisted on 17 kills and had six digs.
Central Arkansas returns to the Prince Center on Thursday night to battle Northwestern State. On Saturday, the Sugar Bears will host Stephen F. Austin at 2:00 in the afternoon. The match will serve as Senior Day for Central Arkansas and the Sugar Bears will celebrate the careers of seniors Jessica Hays and Taylor Hammonds. From November 16
