CONWAY, Ark. _ University of Central Arkansas placekicker Eddie Camara and wide receiver/return specialist Jesse Grandy were named the Southland Conference special teams and offensive players of the week, respectively, on Monday.
Camara, a sophomore from Cedar Hill, Texas, kicked the game-winning and career-long 47-yard field goal with just 23 seconds left to lift the Bears to a 27-26 win at No. 15 McNeese State. Camara also had a 41-yard field goal in the first half and was a perfect 3 for 3 on point-afters in the game.
Grandy, a senior from Pine Bluff, finished with 189 all-purpose yards in the victory. He caught four passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns, rushed two times for 16 yards and totaled 80 yards in kickoff/punt returns. His touchdown catches covered 36 and 33 yards. Grandy also was special teams player of the week earlier this season.
The Bears have had eight players of the week during the 2012 season.
