BEARS FALL 2-1 TO UALR

Sophomore Grace Purtle scored her 2nd goal of the season in Friday's 2-1 loss.
LITTLE ROCK — After taking a lead into the break at halftime, Central Arkansas surrendered a pair of second half goals and fell 2-1 to UALR on Friday.

The Bears (4-3-0) assumed the lead at the 29-minute mark of the first half when sophomore Grace Purtle lofted a shot over UALR goalkeeper Michelle Pittman for her second goal in three games.

UALR (4-5-0) evened the score in the 54th minute when Jacquelyn Paz's shot caromed off the crossbar to Kristen Semko, who put it past UCA goalkeeper Lyndzey Goff into the bottom left corner of the net.

The Trojans scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute when Ariel Galletti played a cross to Christina Veasley, who hit a header in for the game-winner.

The Trojans outshot the Bears 14-3 with a 6-3 shots on goal advantage. Pittman recorded a pair of saves for UALR and Goff had four for the Bears.

UCA will travel to Pine Bluff to take on UAPB next Friday before beginning a three-game homestand on Sunday.
