WACO, Texas- Baylor hit a pair of home runs off of Central Arkansas pitcher Kelsie Armstrong en route to a 3-0 victory at BU's QTI Powers Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Getterman Stadium. Baylor (13-0) got an eight-strikeout four-hitter from Liz Paul (3-0) in the circle. Armstrong (2-7) struck out one and allowed five hits and two walks in six innings for UCA (3-10).
With two outs in the top of the first, UCA junior Kasey Britt hit a double to left center field. Catcher Melanie Bryant followed with a single up the middle where Britt was out at the plate by BU center fielder Kathy Shelton.
Baylor designated player Whitney Canion led the top of the third off with a solo homer. Shorstop Dani Leal drew a walk to start the sixth inning, followed by a two-run blast by left fielder Shelbi Redfearn.
Britt went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for UCA. Bryant also had two hits.
UCA will wrap up the tournament with an 11 a.m. game against Sam Houston State on Sunday.
