HUNTSVILLE, Texas — Central Arkansas dropped its fifth straight game on Wednesday night, losing 3-1 at Sam Houston State in a game rescheduled after the Oct. 9 meeting at Pritchett Field was called in the first half due to unplayable field conditions.
After trailing 1-0 at the half, the Bears (5-9-1, 1-5 Southland) fell behind 3-0 in the second half when the Bearkats (7-9-1, 3-3) got two goals within a 34-second window midway through the half.
Kirby Zak scored at the 63:49 mark, and Emily Edesntrom followed with another at 64:23 to push the SHSU lead to three.
UCA got on the board in the 66th minute on a goal from Kristin Pollard, with both Carrissa and Corey Rossi recording assists. The goal was the third of the season for Pollard, tying her with Maddi Poteet for the team lead.
The Bears will travel to Natchitoches, La. to take on Northwestern State Friday at 7 p.m. and then end the regular season next week on the road at Lamar on Friday and McNeese State on Sunday.
