SUGAR BEARS SWEEP LADY LIONS

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The University of Central Arkansas volleyball team secured their fourth consecutive 20-win season with a three-set sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Clemons Arena on Tuesday night. The Sugar Bears (20-6) topped the Lady Lions (2-18) 25-15, 25-7, 25-18 and hit .437, the ninth best percentage in school history.

UCA connected on 45 kills and had seven blocks and seven aces. UAPB managed 20 kills and hit .062.

Leading the way for the Sugar Bears was junior outside hitter Jessica Hays with 16 kills. Sophomore Taylor Hammonds had nine kills and senior Chloe Smith added eight. Freshman setter Marissa Collins recorded 40 assists and junior libero Cristin Curl came up with 16 digs.

UAPB was led by Britta Wilmers with eight kills and Jasmine Jacobs with eight digs.

The Sugar Bears will host Texas State in a Southland Conference match at the Prince Center on Saturday at 2 p.m.
