 History:
Coach Iggy has made an immediate impact since becoming a Bear in 2014. Coach Iggy is responsible for just under two dozen school records - to date, and has produced multiple All-Conference performances including Indoor and Outdoor Champions. Annual attendances to the NCAA Preliminary Rounds are also commonplace for Coach Iggy and his athletes. During the 2015-2016 seasons Coach Iggy lead sophomore Eric Moore to become the Universities first ever NCAA DI National Qualifier since UCA becoming a member of Division I in 2006.

Moore qualified for the Indoor National Championships at the Southland Conference Championships in Birmingham, AL with a PR high jump of 2.20m (7’2.5”). A few weeks later, Coach Iggy and Moore returned to the Birmingham CrossPlex and earned 2 nd Team All-American Honors. In May 2016, the two found themselves prepping for yet another NCAA National Championship after Moore and 3 others (USC, UofA, K-State) lead the High Jump field in Lawrence, KS with shared jumps of 2.16 (7’1”). While in Eugene, home of the University of Oregon, Moore made 2nd Team All-American Honors.

Prior to Central Arkansas, Coach Iggy, a native of the Northeast spent his final months on The Shore as a sprints, hurdles, jumps coach with the Jersey Shore Elite Track Club. During this time, he was also engaged in the early stages of partnering with a number of close colleagues in developing a mentorship program for developmental student athletes, as well as, coaching privately under his label, Dream Performance Training (not yet LLCd). Additionally, Coach Iggy offered his knowledge of speed training to the All Star Sports Academy in Toms River, NJ as the Academy’s speed coach.

Prior to Jersey Shore Elite, Coach Iggy spent two years at Saint Francis University – PA, as the multi and jumps coach. While at SFU, Iggy also assisted the sprints, hurdles, relay coach. Throughout this time, Iggy coached several All – Conference performers, including Conference Champions, added over a dozen names to the Universities Top 10 Performance lists and re-wrote two school records. By the product of a cohesive coaching environment, the Lady Red Flash earned themselves a runner up finish in the Northeast Conference – an improvement from 5 th the year prior, which directly resulted in being a member of the honored Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year in 2013.

Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Iggy joined his Jr. High School coach at Monsignor Donovan High School – New Jersey, with an emphasis on the sprints, hurdles and jumping events. While at Mon Don, Iggy facilitated numerous athletes to NJ State - Group, Sectional and All - State Honors, including a National Qualifier. Throughout this period, Iggy continued training and competing post collegiately for one year representing Shore A.C. in the hurdle events at venues such as the Penn Relays, USATF State Championships and minor IAAF meetings.

Iggy graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD obtaining a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Iggy was a recruited varsity track and field athlete for the Mountaineers and represented The Mount in all but one Championship hurdle final throughout his stint in the NEC. Iggy still holds a spot on the Universities Top 10 Performance List at The Mount. Continuing his Education, Iggy received a Master’s degree in Education - Leadership from Saint Francis University - PA.

Philosophy:
As coaches, we carry the responsibility to teach young adults how to maximize their athletic talent in addition to preparing them for the real world. We all have a dream and it is in this spirit that I developed a part of my coaching philosophy.
Dedication – Responsibility – Education – Attitude – Motivation

Dedication – Be committed. Work hard every day and apply this in all of your endeavors. Value the process and earn your way. Nothing in life worth having is free or easy.

Responsibility – Take ownership of your actions and understand the outcomes, both positive and negative. Everyone is accountable for actions and learn from your experiences. Gain respect through responsibility.

Education – Learning is the number one reason why these young adults are here. Every athlete is a student first and foremost, athlete second. Ask questions, take initiative and take advantage of what you learn on a daily basis and invest your knowledge accordingly.

Attitude – Your attitude is a reflection of who you are. Carry a positive attitude everywhere you go. Everyone has bad days, but keeping a positive outlook through your trials shows who you really are.

Motivation – Have a plan, set goals and obtain them. Be passionate and stay motived intrinsically and extrinsically. Use your friends, family and teammates as fuel for your motivation. Burn the fuel!
When all is said and done, Dreams don’t work unless you do!
