CONWAY, Ark. – The University of Central Arkansas tennis program ended up on the wrong side of the decision Friday afternoon, taking a rough 7-0 loss to the Lipscomb Bisons. UCA fell to 11-10 on the season and 3-4 in the ASUN.
UCA had been on a roll in doubles, a key piece to all of its win in conference play to date. However, when Friday morning gave way to afternoon, the Bisons would not be denied, cruising to a 2-0 doubles win. In the No. 6 spot, Ting-An Chen played a great match against Cherniaieva for the Bisons. After losing the first set 6-3, Chen rebounded in the second, winning 6-2 and forcing a tiebreak. The two went back-and fourth in the best of 10 bout, but after what seemed like a marathon, the Bisons' No. 6 starter got the win. UCA was not able to keep its perfect record against Lipscomb, as the Bisons grabbed their first win in the series in emphatic fashion.
UCA will be back in action on Sunday, April 7th at 10:00 a.m. against the North Alabama Lions for what will be UCA's last home match of the season. To follow along with all things UCA tennis, follow @UCATennis on Twitter/X.
