DOTHAN, Ala. – The Central Arkansas men's golf team started the ASUN Championships in second place after round one, leaning on two golfers in the top-10.
Mark Stockdale ended the day in second, and
Palmer McSpadden finds himself in sixth after 18 holes.
Stockdale, in his freshman season, posted a 2-under 70 on Sunday, tallying five birdies. He sits three strokes off the leader headed into round two. McSpadden finished his first round just a stroke off of Stockdale, penciling in two birdies at a 1-under 71. He only had one bogey in the first round playing extremely efficient golf.
Luke Sienkiewicz rounded out a 2-over 74 first round, putting in five birdies. He was tied for third among 61 players with his five birdies.
Zach Little scored a 75 in round one, adding three birdies across his first 18 holes.
Harrison Arnold also scored a 75 on Sunday, sinking a pair of birdies of his own.
Lipscomb leads the field after the first round, eight strokes under par. The Bears are in second, ten strokes back, and Queens is two strokes behind Central Arkansas in third place. Lipscomb's Jaron Leasure is in the lead at the ASUN Championship, five strokes under par. Stockdale is in a four-way tie for second, three strokes back of the lead.
