IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Central Arkansas men's golf team is in a tie for second place after two rounds at the Hawkeye Invitational, thanks to all four counting scores at or under par. The Bears are five strokes out of the lead at a 5-under 563 following Saturday's action.
Zach Little and
Harrison Arnold are tied for seventh place after 36 holes, each scoring a 2-under 140. Little cruised through the front nine in round one, recording five birdies on just the front. His nine total birdies are tied for eighth out of 90 golfers. Arnold, for his part, started his first round with a pair of birdies bookending an eagle, and kept a 4-under through the first 18 holes.
Mark Stockdale played his way to a 1-under 141 after two rounds, playing a 68 in round one and a 73 in round two. His nine birdies are tied with Little for team-lead, which included ending the first round on a streak of three-straight birdies from the 18
th hole to the second.
Luke Sienkiewicz climbed to even after two rounds, improving on his first-round score of 73 to tally a 69 in round two. The sophomore penciled in seven birdies across 36 holes, four of which came in his second round.
Palmer McSpadden shot a 154 after two rounds, tallying four birdies on Saturday. He capped his second round with five-straight holes at par.
Wisconsin played two-straight rounds of 5-under 279, claiming first place after Saturday's play. Central Arkansas is in a tie with TCU for second place, five strokes back of the leading Badgers. Wisconsin's Cameron Huss leads the individual boards, checking in at 10-under 132. Nebraska's Harry Crockett is in second, three strokes back of the leader, and Iowa's Hogan Hansen rounds out the top-three.
The Bears will play one more round on Sunday to determine the winner of the Hawkeye Invitational, with play starting at 8:15 a.m. For complete scores and standings, visit the
