PAWYLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Luke Sienkiewicz moved up ten spots on day two to move into a tie for second place at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate. The team shot an even 288 to move up to 13
th after 36 holes of golf.
The freshman shot an incredible 4-under 68 to jump up into second after making six birdies in the second round. He pairs it with his eagle from yesterday for seven holes under par, the most among the Bears.
Palmer McSpadden made a big jump of his own, moving up 29 spots after shooting a 1-under 71 on Tuesday. McSpadden tallied four birdies to bring his two-round score to 150 after 36 holes.
Nash Johnson shot a 3-over 75 on Tuesday, claiming a day-two score of 150 as well. A fourth Bear,
Trey DePriest, also has a 36-hole score of 150 after playing his way to a 5-over 77. Senior
Sam Long added a second-round score of 74 to climb up in his second 18, making three birdies on the front nine.
Sienkiewicz's 68 is the second-lowest score by a Bear this season, and helped the Bears to the best score on par three holes on the course. Central Arkansas is 3-under as a team on par three holes through 36 holes.
Troy fired a 276 in the second round to move into first place, overtaking Delaware, who slid to second. Xavier was one shot under par as a team, moving up into third. UConn's Jared Nelson stayed in first place as an individual, and three golfers are tied for second. Sienkiewicz and Xavier's Carson Bellish each moved up double-digit spaces to reach second, and Delaware's Sahasawat Ariyachatvakin also moved up into second place.
The Bears will play one more round tomorrow to wrap up the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate.
