WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two rounds of the Purdue Fall Invitational are in the books after Monday's play, and the Central Arkansas men's golf team is in a battle, placing fourth through 36 holes. The Bears have three top-20 individuals, all at or below par after two rounds.
Zach Little leads the way for the Bears, tallying eight birdies across his two rounds. After a first round that saw him shoot a 2-under 69, he finished the day at 1-under 141, and enters Tuesday's final round in 15
th place.
Harrison Arnold and
Mark Stockdale are tied for 19
th, both at an even 142. Arnold finished his day with seven total birdies, repeating on holes two, eight and 16. Stockdale shot a terrific 4-under 67 in round one, and was atop the leaderboard after his first 18 holes. He also tallied eight birdies through 36 holes.
Palmer McSpadden capped Monday's play with a two-round score of 1-over 143. The senior kept every hole within one stroke of par, adding four birdies to his scorecard through 36 holes.
Luke Sienkiewicz pocketed five birdies of his own, turning in a 5-over 147.
Illinois State and Northern Illinois are in a tie for first place after two rounds, both six strokes ahead of Nebraska in third place. Central Arkansas is one stroke behind the Cornhuskers at a 1-under 567. Individually, Illinois State's Valentin Peugnet is in first, followed by Northern Illinois' Zach Place in second and Ben Sluzas in third.
The Purdue Fall Classic has one more round to be played on Tuesday to determine final rankings. Tee off is set for 10 a.m.
