CHOUDRANT, La. - Another day, another round for the Central Arkansas men's golf team. After a second round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, the Bears remain in 13th place after a +3 team score.
Trey DePriest played lights out in round two, shooting a 3-under 69 to jump up 27 spots in the rankings. With a total score of 4-under 140, DePriest leapt to the 14th spot, posting one of the highest jumps in the field.
Viktor Nordwall and Luke Sienkiewicz remained in the same place with the same scores, firing a 1-over 73 in the second round. Dropping a little bit in the standings, the pair of newcomers now find themselves just inside the top 50 at 41st. Dominic Barron Holden ended the second round at a 4-over 76, dropping four places in the field of play after 36 holes. Sam Long also fired a 4-over, pulling himself up three places.
As a team, the Bears now sit five strokes out of the top-10 of the 23 team field, and still remain above fellow ASUN member Kennesaw State. Southern Miss jumped up to take the lead, shooting 12-under 276 as a squad. LSU and Middle Tennessee also jumped up, rounding out the top-three.
Individually, Southern Miss golfer Thongpipat Rattanayanon shot 6-under to leap 15 spots into a tie for the lead. Missouri State's Max Kreikemeier also moved into a tie for first, firing a 4-under 68 to round out day two with a 135.
Central Arkansas will wrap up the event with one more day of golf on Tuesday, leveling off the first tournament of the schedule.
