COLUMBIA, Mo. – Two rounds of golf took until almost total darkness at the Tiger Intercollegiate, but the Central Arkansas men's golf team stuck it out and finished round two before conditions became unplayable. After 36 holes, the Bears are in 14
th place, led by
Spencer Jenkins' 1-over 145.
Jenkins slotted into a tie for 27
th after the first day, hitting an even 72 in round one before picking up an extra stroke in round two.
Josh Turnock finished right behind Jenkins, landing at 38
th after a 3-over 147 day one.
Further on down the standings,
Blaine Calhoon ended his first day with a 6-over 150, shooting three-over in each of his first two rounds.
Sam Long finds himself in a tie for 69
th after an 8-over 152 first 36 holes. Long was just two strokes over par after the first round, sliding a little in the second frame.
Palmer McSpadden wrapped up his first 36 holes at 10-over 154. The Bears shot 14 birdies in round two, with Jenkins recording an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole.
Host Missouri leads the field, holding a 16-stroke lead over second place Wichita State. Oral Roberts rounds out the top-three after finishing nine under par in round two. Individually, Missouri's Jack Parker leads all golfers at 10-under. He is followed by Oral Roberts' Lane Wallace, Bellarmine's Shawn DeWeese and Wichita State's Brock Polhill, each of whom are tied for second place.
The field will play one more round of golf on Tuesday, wrapping up the 54-hole event.
