LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – After two rounds of golf in Little Rock, Ark., the Central Arkansas men's golf team finds itself in 14
th place out of 16 teams. With a round to go on Tuesday, the Bears will have 18 more holes to make up some ground at the Little Rock Invitational.
Sam Long led the way for the Bears, finishing the first day in 35
th. The senior wrapped up his first round a stroke under par before ending the day at four over.
Luke Sienkiewicz, on the other hand, rebounded quite nicely in the second round, connecting on five birdies on the back half to finish with a 1-under 71 on his second set of 18. The freshman capped day one in 38
th with a 5-over 149 after jumping 30 spots.
Dominic Barron Holden stands at 7-over 151 through 36 holes, combining nine birdies on the first day of the event. In round one, the English golfer had a streak of five birdies in seven holes from nine to 15.
Palmer McSpadden rounded out his first day with an 8-over 152, while
Viktor Nordwall checks in at 10-over 154.
VCU and Troy are tied at the top of the team rankings, with Southern Mississippi three strokes behind them in third. Individually, Southern Mississippi's Ryan Dupuy and Lamar's Hugo Hellman sit in first place. VCU's Mattias Varjun and Troy's Brantley Scott are tied below in third place.
Central Arkansas will play one more round on Tuesday to wrap up the fall portion of the schedule. Tee time is set for 8 a.m.
