"CLEAR-BAG" POLICY IN EFFECT AT SATURDAY'S FOOTBALL GAME

CONWAY, Ark. _ Central Arkansas Athletics has amended its "no-bag" policy at home ticketed athletic events to a "clear-bag" policy, according to Dr. Brad Teague, UCA's director of athletics.

The policy will be in effect beginning with the UCA Football game against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, Sept. 16 at First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

The following bags will be allowed:
• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5"

Medical care and childcare bags will still be allowed, but will also be subject to search upon entry. Fans are encouraged to bring only necessary items to UCA events. Blankets, cameras, radios, water bottles, binoculars, and seat cushions/portable chair backs will be allowed in the stadium, but will also be subject to search.

This policy was formed with the aid of the UCA Police Department and the UCA Administration. It was deemed necessary due to the new Arkansas Concealed Carry Law. This proactive measure will enhance the safety inside and outside of UCA Athletics venues. The NFL and most other NCAA stadiums have adopted similar policies in order to provide an additional level of safety for spectators and fans.

UCA Athletics will also be securing Estes Stadium through the strategic closure of stadium gates. Field level entry will be gained only through Gate 4 at the southwest corner of the stadium, just south of the west ticket office. Valid field credentials will be required at all times.

Fans will be able to enter and leave the Estes stadium as in the past, but must have a valid ticket, ticket stub or credential to re-enter the stadium. Gates will be monitored throughout the game and ticket sales will continue through the middle of the 3rd quarter.
